Group collects 48 medals, two national champs at AAUs

Twenty-one members of Team D.E.E.N.O.S. gymnastics competed at the AAU Gymnastics National Age Group Championships in Savannah. More than 1,500 gymnasts took part in this year’s competition.  

D.E.E.N.O.S. competed as members of Team Georgia and contributed a total of 48 gold, silver and bronze medals along with two AAU all-around national champion titles.

Level 3 gymnast Chelsea Eddy earned the title of AAU 11-year senior all-around national champion. She took gold on bars, beam and floor and silver on vault. She also established a new D.E.E.N.O.S. gym record of 38.675 for all-around.

Caroline Johnson, a level 4 gymnast, became the 10-year junior all-around national champion by earning gold on vault, beam and bars and silver on floor.

Level 2 gymnast Alyse Arrington earned silver on vault, bars and all-around, and bronze on floor and beam. Completing the level 2 team were Kayla Frady, Alyssa Jeffers and Avery Adams. All earned top 10 finishes.

All D.E.E.N.O.S. team gymnasts competing in the Level 3 division earned gold, silver or bronze medals for Team Georgia.  Alyssa LeTourneau earned gold on bars and silver on beam, floor and all-around. Kylie Neal earned silver on vault and floor.  Alexia Chavez earned gold on beam, silver on floor and bronze on vault. Taylor Colson earned gold on vault and silver on floor. Naya Lily earned gold on floor while setting a new D.E.E.N.O.S. gym record of 9.875.

Level 4 gymnast Taylor Doten earned silver on beam and bronze on floor and all-around.  Casey Meyers earned silver on bars and bronze on vault.  Leah King set a D.E.E.N.O.S. gym record by earning a 9.8 on beam and winning gold. McKaela Kramer earned top 10 finishes in all four events.

Aleana Kramer, Level 5 gymnast, earned silver on bars. Jillia Kramer earned silver on vault, beam and all-around and bronze on bars. Sabrina Saturday took gold on vault, silver on all-around and bronze on bars. Sarah Drewry earned top 10 finishes in all four events.  Rounding out the Level 5 team was Nikki Joiner, who earned gold on beam and floor and bronze on all-around. Courtlynn-Caron Pruitt, level 7 gymnast, earned gold on vault and beam and bronze on floor and all-around.
