The Effingham County girls golf team will head to Augusta on May 5 to compete in the Class AAAA state tournament after their finish in the Region 3-AAAA championship Monday.
Madison Mongin shot an 86 and Stephanie Simmons had a 98 for the Lady Rebels. Their 184 total was 10 shots off the pace set by Ware County at the Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear.
The Lady Rebels will go to Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta for the state championship.
Bateman Hall led the Rebels with an 85 while Matt Johnson shot 89 and Ryan Fletcher had a 90. Wheaton Hall did not play because of an injury and the Rebels could not turn in a score because of a disqualification to Radley Clements.
