Glynn girls romp past Effingham

The Glynn Academy Lady Red Terrors opened up a big lead early and never looked back, beating the Effingham County Lady Rebels 62-38 Friday night in a Region 3-AAAA girls basketball game.

Glynn, 18-4 on the year and 7-0 in the region, jumped out to a 16-6 advantage and widened the advantage to 41-15 at halftime. The Lady Rebels (12-9, 3-3) were never able to mount a serious challenge in the second half.

Donsha Aldridge had 22 points to lead the Lady Red Terrors, hitting three 3-pointers, while Chantrelle Harris scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half.

Valencia Kelly added nine, Talisha Green and Janisha Wilkerson each had six points, and Baiesha Johnson and Gail Roberts each had two points.

Sierra Goldwire scored 19 points to pace the Lady Rebels. Kyana Barber had six, Marie Fogle, Jasmine Wallace and Amanda Young each had three and Whitney Roberson and Alyx Pitts had two points each.
