Baseball
Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) — Reddick was placed on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 26 and he is eligible to return Sept 10.
For the season, Reddick is hitting .213 with 10 homers and 46 runs batted in. He has 15 doubles and two triples to go with nine stolen bases.
JB Wendelken (Winston-Salem Dash) — The Dash’s Carolina League playoff hopes were dashed in an 8-7 loss to the Potomac Nationals as Kevin Keyes homered in the 11th against Wendelken.
Wendelken is 0-1 with the Dash, posting a 4.91 earned run average. He has struck out 14 in 7 1/3 innings, but has allowed four earned runs on seven walks and eight hits. For the season, including all three teams for which he has pitched, he is 2-2 with 12 saves and an ERA of 3.39. He has 76 strikeouts in 77 innings and has given up only five home runs.
Zach Dotson (Kingsport Mets) — Dotson tossed a scoreless inning against Bluefield on Friday. In three games, he posted an ERA of 6.00 with four strikeouts and two walks over three innings. He also allowed four hits.
The Kingsport Mets will play for the Rookie-level Appalachian League title.
D.J. Driggers (Gulf Coast League Tigers) — In five games, Driggers is 2-for-8 with two singles and five strikeouts. He also has one stolen base.


College
Football
Tovar Allen (Alabama State University) — A junior offensive lineman, Allen started at tackle in the season opener against Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks edged the Hornets 24-22. Alabama State had 405 yards of total offense in the loss. The Hornets will visit Jackson State on Saturday.
Women’s soccer
Sydnie Van Curen (Georgia Southern University) — The junior forward has one goal for the Eagles, who are 0-3. Georgia Southern will host Stetson on Friday.
Marissa Hamm (University of South Carolina Beaufort) — The sophomore had one shot but did not score in a 5-2 loss to Hastings on Sunday. The Sand Sharks (1-2-1) will visit USC Aiken on Saturday.
