South Effingham’s girls swept a match with St. Vincent’s Academy in Region 3-AAA tennis Wednesday.

At No. 1 singles, Jessie Kessler outlasted Caroline Hussey 6-4, 3-6 and 6-3. Courtney Edenfield took No. 2 singles from Sarah Reynolds 7-5, 6-3, and Katherine Perrin won at No. 3 singles, beating Helen Sullivan 6-3 and 2-1. The second set was called because of darkness.  

The top doubles team of Allison Williford and Casie Hiatt defeated Korrine Soha and Chloe Paddison 6-1, 6-1, and the No. 2 doubles team of Rebeka Padget and Raven Giles won 6-4, 6-4.

Benedictine’s boys took a 4-1 victory from South Effingham.  Tyler Jenkins and Shane Jenkins had the lone match win at No. 2 doubles with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Joe Barrow and John Lamb.

No. 1 singles seed Geoff Beecher fell 6-4 4-6 and 6-4 to Irving Drought. Andrew Jones downed Sam Barber 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Ross Kooden took No. 3 singles from Ryan Kessler 6-2, 6-0.

Matt Moore and Bradley Suetjens topped Austin Kuster and Nick Edel 6-4, 4-6 and 7-5.
