SEHS golfers take Taylors Creek match

South Effingham took a three-team match Tuesday with Bradwell Institute and Liberty County at Fort Stewart’s Taylors Creek Golf Course.

Matt Olliff was one of four Mustangs to shoot under 40, posting a round-best 37. Garrison Huggins and Jonathan Crapse each had a 38 and Taylor Landing finished with a 39. The Mustangs had a team total of 152.

Ryan Norris had a 40 for Bradwell (152) and Ben Floyd led Liberty County (202) with a 38.

“We are starting to come together and make a few good shots,” Mustangs coach Greg Manior said. “If we can keep our composure and be a little more consistent, we’ll be competitive midway through the season.“

South Effingham’s girls also won, clipping Liberty County by one stroke, 100-101. Brooke Capwell shot a 48 and Lauren Chapman had a  52 for the Lady Mustangs. Cassie Standard had a 43 for the Lady Panthers.
