South Effingham splits with SEB

The South Effingham girls tennis team did not drop a set in sweeping Southeast Bulloch, but the SEB boys did the same thing against the Mustangs boys team.

Girls No. 1 singles seed Katie Tanner defeated Shelby Forehand 6-2, 6-2. Ciara Knowles won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-1 and Katherine Perrin beat Jordan Sherrod 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Allison Williford and Cassie Hiatt beat Laura Bennett and Kaitlin Branner 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Jessie Kessler and Meghan Dunbar beat Sara Ervin and Sarah Burkart 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

SEB top boys singles Toby Sanders topped Geoff Beecher 6-1, 6-1. Jon Martin took No. 2 singles from Sam Barber 6-1, 6-0 and Aaron Grover downed Sean Juergens 6-1,6-3. Brooks Edenfield and Sam Dickerson beat Shane Jenkins and Max Barber 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and Brandon Sellers and Chris Dickerson completed the sweep with a 6-1, 7-5 win over Austin Kuster and Nick Edel.
