Strong relief efforts, Hollis power Mustangs into second round

ATLANTA -- South Effingham received four scoreless innings of relief from Dru Futch in the first game and Hunter Walthour and Maddox Shiell added another four innings of relief in the nightcap as the Mustangs defeated Westlake 11-5 and 6-4 to sweep their best-of-three series in the first round of the Class AAAAAA state baseball tournament.

Noah Hollis had four hits and drove in five runs in the doubleheader.

South will play the winner of Allatoona-Lanier in the second round May 3-4.
