On Nov. 21-22, three members and two advisors from South Effingham High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) attended the fall leadership conference at the Classic Center in Athens. The fall leadership conference consists of leadership workshops, networking opportunities, and competition for FBLA members from all across Georgia.

FBLA members Jeremy Myers, Brandon Cody and Meredith Lamb competed in the Battle of the Chapters competition which consists of a written test of FBLA facts. The SEHS’s Battle Team was one of the top 10 teams with the highest average score.  This qualified them to move on to compete with nine other teams in an oral round at the state leadership conference at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta in March.

In addition to the competition, leadership team members from all over the U.S. hosted leadership workshops for members. This allowed members to network and get to know FBLA members from all over the state and share their ideas.

There was also a Monopoly tournament and a “Penny Wars” fundraiser to benefit the March of Dimes.
