The Beta Club members at Blandford Elementary School embarked on a community service project of collecting canned goods to be donated to Effingham FORCE.

Approximately 3,000 canned goods, two truck loads, were collected over a two week period. Members launched an advertising campaign offering incentives to the students as encouragement for their participation. Each afternoon, students were given clues as to the “mystery” canned good for the next day.

Homerooms were given points for each canned good contributed and bonus points for each “mystery” can brought in. A fourth grade class won the grand prize for bringing in the most cans. They will enjoy a pizza party sponsored by the Beta Club. Blandford Elementary congratulates its Beta Club members for their diligent work and tremendous success with this project.

Students at Guyton Elementary held a weeklong canned food drive during Red Ribbon Week. The school brought in 4,173 items of food that they donated to FORCE.
