Fifth graders at Blandford Elementary got a glimpse of what Civil War life was really like.

The Camp Davis Sons of Confederate Veterans visited Blandford Elementary. These volunteers spoke with the students about many aspects of civil war life. They learned about many of our local civil war leaders.

The students were filled with questions for the volunteers who were dressed as soldiers. They learned many things about battle and camp life that reinforced the fifth grade social studies Georgia performance standards. The students viewed several war artifacts and models of Civil War life. These students enjoyed the real-life learning experience and appreciated the local volunteers for their visit.
