Sand Hill Elementary School students enjoyed a “big” show for their annual career day on May 10. Several large vehicles were on display to showcase careers in transportation.

The vehicles students saw included a fire truck, ambulance, patrol cars from the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol, a Humvee from the 165thAirlift Wing, a race car, and heavy equipment from JCB, CSX and the Georgia Forestry Commission.

Along with giving students ideas for careers they might want to pursue, the program fulfilled a state requirement under the College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) to “imbed career awareness” at the elementary school level.
