Alexandria “Ali” Clark, a second grade student at South Effingham Elementary, won first place in the kindergarten-second division of the 2008 Georgia School Bus Safety Poster Contest.

Clark’s winning poster was selected from among all the kindergarten-second grade entries submitted from school districts across the state. The theme for this year’s poster contest was, “Avoid Harm, Obey the Stop Arm.”

In addition to having her poster forwarded to the national contest sponsored by the National Association for Pupil Transportation, Clark, the daughter of Jerald and Tabatha Clark of Rincon, will receive a $100 award.

The School Bus Safety Poster Contest is held each year in conjunction with National School Bus Safety Week.

Participating in the annual contest is an optional activity.
