At South Effingham High School, students in the credit recovery classes had an opportunity to receive a lap top computer for Christmas.
An alumnus of SEHS donated a new laptop computer to the school. Students in credit recovery classes were told that for every credit they earned in credit recovery they would have their names placed in a drawing for the laptop computer.
A drawing was held Dec. 17. Instructional Supervisor/Assistant Principal Travis Nesmith, Graduation Coach Jason Keeler, Transition Facilitator Jeff Goff and Principal Mark Winters conducted the drawing. James Coast’s name was drawn and he was given the laptop computer before leaving for the Christmas holidays.
Georgia Power has indicated they will donate a laptop computer for another drawing that will be held at the end of the school year.
SEHS staff members hope that these laptop computers will be more than a motivation for students to recover credits through the credit recovery program. The staff hopes these students will use the computers to further their education and to increase their opportunities to learn.
