Ebenezer Middle students sweep MLK Jr. Day prizes

Students at Ebenezer Middle School took all of the honors in the MLK Jr. Day Theme contest, according to EMS Principal Ramona Lovett.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Observance Day Committee announced its 2010 theme winners and invites students to participate in the poster and essay contests.

Students could use any one of the winning themes for posters and essays. The theme was “Dreamers of Today - Leaders of Tomorrow.”
The winners were: first place – Georgiana Johnson, eighth grade student at Ebenezer Middle School, teacher-Teshewanda Shuman, “Dreamers of Today - Leaders of Tomorrow”; second place – Sterling E. Morrison, eighth grade student at Ebenezer Middle School, teacher-Teshewanda Shuman, “Past Dreams – Future Changes”; third place – Zakeria McCarr, sixth grade student at Ebenezer Middle School, teacher-Julian Heyman, “Dr. King: The Dreamer of Change.”

Honorable mention went to Rakkia Smith, eighth grade student at Ebenezer Middle School, teacher-Jennifer Hayes, “A Better Future Means Listening to Our Past.”
