Evans named to deans list at Reinhardt

WALESKA—Madison Evans, a sophomore from Rincon, was among the 378 students named to the Reinhardt University dean’s list for spring semester 2015.

A Reinhardt dean’s list student must maintain a 3.5 grade-point average based on successful completion of a minimum of 12 semester credits with no grade less than a B.

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
