GSU to host free GMAT prep session

The Georgia Southern University Master of Business Administration program will host a free Graduate Management Admission Test prep session on March 11, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Coastal Georgia Center, 305 Fahm Street, Savannah, featuring Akil Bello, vice president of educational development at Bell Curves.


Students interested in advancing their careers with a MBA degree should attend this free prep session to better understand the Graduate Management Admission Test. Bello will present tips on how to prepare for the computer-adaptive test and will offer test-taking strategies.


Georgia Southern MBA representatives will be available after the free GMAT prep session to answer questions prospective students have about the AACSB-accredited Georgia Southern MBA program.

Effingham School Board Approves $203M budget with Potential Property Tax Increase

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
