SAVANNAH–Kitchenware Outfitters owners Dave and Barbara Freeman presented Savannah Technical College President Dr. Kathy S. Love a check in the amount of $1,400 to the Savannah Technical College Foundation to support the college’s culinary arts program.

The check represents proceeds earned from two earlier knife sharpening events.

“We’re very grateful to the Freemans for including us in their charitable planning,” said Love. “In today’s economy, when small businesses choose to assist our program and our students directly with their support, it is especially appreciated.”

According to Chef Jean Vendeville, who leads the college’s Culinary Institute of Savannah, funds can help offset the costs of uniforms and equipment that students must purchase.

Kitchenware Outfitters is located in the Twelve Oaks Plaza on Abercorn Street in Savannah.

The Savannah Technical College Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports Savannah Technical College and its students.
