Truluck named to dean’s list at Emory

ATLANTA — Emilia Truluck of Rincon was named to the dean’s list of Emory College of Arts and Sciences, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta, for the 2014 fall semester.

Students must be in the top 20 percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.85 grade point average or higher to be named to the dean’s list.



Odom named to Emerson dean’s list

BOSTON — Emerson College student Virginia Odom of Rincon has been named to the dean’s list for the fall 2014 semester.

Odom is majoring in theatre studies/acting.

The criterion to make Emerson’s dean’s list is a grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
