Effingham students make Berry dean’s list

MOUNT BERRY — Three students from Effingham County were named to Berry College’s fall 2014 dean’s list, according to Provost Kathy Richardson.

Earning the honor were Samuel Berendsen of Guyton, Tyler Shepard of Rincon and Lauren Thompson of Rincon.

The dean’s list honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Two local students make dean’s list at Darton

ALBANY — Two students from Effingham County were named to Darton State College’s fall semester dean’s list.

Earning the honor were Esther M. Arthur and Austin D. Peigh, both of Guyton.

To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must be full-time and have earned a 3.4 or higher grade point average.

Marrero earns degree from Troy University

TROY, Ala. — Amanda Marrero of Rincon graduated from Troy University during Term 2 of the 2014-15 academic year.

Marrero received a bachelor of science degree from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Marrero was a Troy University Global Campus student.

Term 2 graduates include students at Troy’s campuses in Dothan, Phenix City and Montgomery, Ala., and Global Campus, which consists of teaching sites outside of Alabama and online.
