Nicholas Lynch Matthews has graduated from the University of Indiana with a doctorate of philosophy in mass communications and a minor in psychology.

Matthews is the son of Steve and Kerrie Matthews of Clyo and his wife Teresa Lynch is from Guyton. He is the grandson of Delories Matthews and the late R.B. Matthews of Savannah and the late Harry and Betty Elmore of Clyo.

A 2003 graduate of Effingham County High School, Matthews attended Armstrong State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from the University of Georgia in 2007.

He earned a master of arts from Indiana in telecommunications in 2011.
