Mercer confers degrees on Effingham Co. residents

The following local students graduated from Mercer University on May 15 during the university’s Macon commencement. Mercer President William D. Underwood conferred the degree at the ceremony, which was the university’s largest.

In all, the university held 10 ceremonies in May in Macon and Atlanta and conferred approximately 1,600 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.

Teresa Hendley Sikes of Guyton earned a Education Specialist from the Tift College of Education.

Pamela Powell Anderegg of Rincon earned a Education Specialist from the Tift College of Education.

Stacy Kennedy Boyett of Rincon earned a Education Specialist from the Tift College of Education.

The ceremony included more than 2,700 attendees, and 516 participants from the College of Liberal Arts, Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, School of Engineering, Tift College of Education and Townsend School of Music.

Tift Scholar Reid graduates from Mercer

Kristin Lynn Reid of Rincon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration summa cum laude from Mercer University’s Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics on May 15 during the commencement for the university’s Macon campus. Reid was also a Tift Scholar. Mercer President William D. Underwood conferred the degree at the ceremony, which was the university’s largest.

The ceremony included more than 2,700 attendees, and 516 participants from the College of Liberal Arts, Eugene W. Stetson School of Business and Economics, School of Engineering, Tift College of Education and Townsend School of Music.

Founded in 1833, Mercer University is a dynamic and comprehensive center of undergraduate, graduate and professional education. The University enrolls more than 8,000 students in 11 schools and colleges  — liberal arts, law, pharmacy, medicine, business, engineering, education, theology, music, nursing and continuing and professional studies — on major campuses in Macon, Atlanta and Savannah and at three regional academic centers across the state.
