Miller named to Champlain College spring deans list

BURLINGTON, VT—Zackary Miller of Springfield has been named to the Champlain College dean’s list for the spring 2016 semester.

Students on the dean’s list have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the semester. Miller is majoring in psychology, professional writing.

Founded in 1878, Champlain College is a small, not-for-profit, private college in Burlington, Vt., with additional campuses in Montreal, Quebec and Dublin, Ireland. Effingham School Board Approves $203M budget with Potential Property Tax Increase

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
