Savannah Tech launches new Web site Wednesday

SAVANNAH — On Wednesday at noon in the Eckburg Auditorium, Savannah Technical College will efresh its Web site for the public.

The launch of the new Web site showcases not only a new design but also encompasses a new user-friendly model for finding information.

“We know that our Web presence is critically important in everything we do, from students looking to find the right college, to business partners looking for workforce development services to donors considering supporting the college and its programs,” said Interim Vice President of Student Success and Web site design team leader, Gail Eubanks. “The new site has lots of information, is easy to navigate and gives each college division an opportunity to make program changes and updates in real time.”

Efresh — the Web site launch — is free and open to the public.

The Effingham County Board of Education approved a $203 million fiscal year 2026 budget Thursday night, reflecting an 11% increase over last year. The rise is largely due to an $8 million spike in health and retirement benefit costs for employees. To help cover the shortfall, the district may raise the property tax millage rate, potentially increasing homeowners’ taxes by up to 12 percent.
