STC expands weekend college studies

SAVANNAH – Last summer, Savannah Technical College announced a new weekend program for busy adults. Now after one quarter with 40 enrolled, the college is expanding its weekend college studies program to include college level Psychology (PSY 191), English (ENG 191) and Algebra (MAT 191) on alternating Saturday mornings at the College’s Savannah Campus, 5717 White Bluff Rd.

“We know that busy professionals often find it difficult to schedule courses during the college’s normal Monday-Thursday schedule,” said Al Cunningham, dean of general studies. “This gives them another option.”

The courses offered are a part of the college’s new technical communications program and readily transfer to area universities and other regionally accredited institutions for continued study.

Each course will meet from 9 a.m.-noon for five alternating Saturdays per course during the College’s fall quarter, beginning Sept. 28. The format is a blend of classroom and on-line study, providing additional flexibility for serious students.

Regular college admission processes apply for new students. Assistance with application, financial aid information and testing/transcripts is available at the Student Success Center in the Administration Building on the Savannah Campus.

Registration for fall quarter is Sept. 26. Currently enrolled students may register in advance of that date in accordance with the academic calendar.
