STC to hold fall graduation tonight

SAVANNAH — Savannah Technical College will hold its fall graduation tonight at 7:30 in the Savannah Civic Center’s Johnny Mercer Theatre. More than 200 are expected to participate in the ceremonies that include graduates in associate degree, diploma, certificate and GED programs.

The commencement speaker will be nationally known humorist Roddy Gray of Abbeville, S.C. Gray has been president of his own company, Ponderings and Wonderings, since 1982. He served as the director of Production and Distance Learning at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities in Greenville for two years; and was a high school teacher and worked as director of admissions at Erksine College.

Additionally, Gray worked for almost 18 years at Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, S.C.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Erksine College and did graduate work at the University of South Carolina and at Clemson University. A certified Train the Trainer, Gray is a noted newspaper columnist and cable television director. He has been published in national magazines.
