Arts Council announces summer arts camp schedule

The Effingham County Council for the Arts announces its 2011 Summer Arts Camp. Camp will take place at Ebenezer Middle School during the week of June 13-17 and will feature five classes.

Classes will start June 13 and will be available for both children and adults. This is an addition from last year’s camp as there has been a demand for adult arts classes as well. Adult classes will feature Floral Arranging with Wyatt Morgan, Glass

Jewelry making with Ameigh Bishop, and Watercolor Painting with Marsha Lott. Adult classes are $60 for the week and include supplies. For times and more information, contact Marsha Lott.

Children’s classes are set up for ages 7-15. Visual Arts Sessions are broken into age groups and the fee is $125 per child for the week. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visual Arts age groups are 7-8; 9-10; 11-12; 13-14; and Theatre

Arts-Performance class is open to children aged 8 to 15. On June 17, the Theatre Arts class will give a performance that is open to parents and guests from 2:30-4 p.m.

Art instructors will include Lori Parker, teaching the Theatre Arts Class; Stephanie Kea, Aimee Pelley, Heather Light, Carla Luke and Marsha Lott teaching the Visual Arts Classes.
