November is National Family Caregiver Month, and Coastal Georgia Care-net/ADRC Coalition plans to celebrate caregivers of all types with a day of food and fun.

Their “Carnival for Caregivers” will include clowns, cotton candy, popcorn and games with prizes and a wonderful guest speaker, humorist, actress and caregiver Karen Stobbe. They will also serve a carnival lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs. This event is from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the Immanuel Baptist Church gymnasium located at 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive in Savannah.

“We want this to be a time for caregivers to let off steam, laugh, have fun and fellowship with other caregivers. Let yourself have this time away from caregiving so you can come back to your caregiving role refreshed,” said event organizers.

This is open to family and professional caregivers. There is no charge, but please RSVP by Oct. 26 to their automated voice mail service at (912) 354-2505.
