Join in on the fun at Wag-O-Ween
Bamboo Farm
The 18th annual fall festival at the Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens will be held Saturday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Activities include pumpkin painting, pony rides and the popular Okefenokee Joe’s native reptiles. There’s a sit-down luncheon from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. with Boston butts and all the fixins. Cost is $8 and reservations are required. Roasted pork butts to go can be reserved for $20. Call (912) 921-5460 to reserve either. Admission is free, but there will be a $1 charge for parking. The Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens is at the intersection of U.S. Highway 17 South and Canebrake Road.

Pumpkin Patch
Bethesda UMC youth pumpkin patch opened Oct. 15. Hours are Monday through Friday from 1-7 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday 1-7 p.m.

Fall Festival/Rummage Sale
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church will hold its 3rd annual Fall Festival on Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. until the fun’s all over. Giant rummage sale and raffle drawings will also take place. Prizes include an airplane ride for two to Jekyll Island, golf for four at Lost Plantation, dinner at El Real or Frank and Linda’s, a manicure at Susie’s and much more. There will be a fun slide for the kids and food, drinks and baked goods on sale all day.

Fall Festival
LifeSpring Worship Center is holding their 2nd annual LifeSpring Stampede and Fall Festival on Oct. 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. The event is free and open to the entire community. The church is located at 105 E. Highway 80 in Bloomingdale. For more information, call 823-2676.

Costume Contests
The Effingham County Recreation Department will host their annual Halloween costume contests on Oct. 29. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. with the costume contest for children (ages newborn-12 years). At 6:30 p.m. begins the contest for dogs and cats.

African Wild Kingdom
First Baptist Church of Rincon will host “The African Wild Kingdom, God’s Creation” on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. There will be free hotdogs and hamburgers, games, bounce houses and music. Everyone is invited. The event will be on Highway 21 between 6th and 7th streets. For more information call the church office at 826-5536.

Community Harvest Festival
Church of the Harvest will host a Community Harvest Festival on Oct. 31 from 6-9 p.m. Join them for food, fun games and more. Everyone is invited. The church is at 434 Weisenbaker Rd.

Great Punkin’ Chunkin’ Competition
First Baptist Church of Springfield will host “The Great Punkin’ Chunkin’ Competition” on Oct. 31 beginning at 6:15 p.m. Also, enjoy their Trunk or Treat event from 5-8 p.m. For more information, go to www.fbc-springfield.org.

6th Annual Fall Festival
Cornerstone Baptist Church would like to invite the community to their Fall Festival on Oct. 31 from 6-8 p.m. This family friendly event will be held at the Rincon Lion’s Club building on Lexington Avenue. Wild West Fall Fest
Grace Community Church will host a Wild West Fall Fest on Oct. 31 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There will be hayrides, face painting, a cake walk, square dancing, pumpkin patch, snow cones, popcorn, free game booths and a hot dog supper that is only $1.50 per person. There will also be a cardboard maze from 7-9 p.m. that costs $2. For more information, call 826-4204.

Marlow Fall Festival
Marlow Elementary will hold its annual fall festival on Nov. 3 from 2-6 p.m. Come for an afternoon of family fun. There will be games, inflatables, bingo, a cakewalk and other fun activities. They will also have some great food and entertainment. Raffle tickets will be on sale for a chance to win some terrific prizes. Kids’ bracelets are $8 each and cover games (except for bingo and the cakewalk).
