The Savannah Ceili Band will appear at the Nov. 2 First Friday for Folk Music. They will share the bill with Nashville’s Alan Rhody and Savannah’s Lauren Lapointe. The Ceili Band will replace Amy Steinberg as the evening’s third act, as Steinberg had a change in her touring.

The Savannah Ceili Band (that’s pronounced Kay-lee) features Irish traditional and dance music. The band includes Dan O’Connell (flute, tin whistle, mandolin and vocals), Chris Hagen (lead vocals, guitar and tenor banjo) and Jerry Stenger (guitar and vocals) all of whom were in the earlier band known as the Tery Alts. Also in this band are Colleen Settle on fiddle, Michael Corbett doing lead vocals and playing five-string banjo, guitar and octave mandolin, and Jim Quigley on bodhran. The group appeared at the 2007 Savannah Irish Music Festival and the recent Tybee Festival of the Arts.

Originally scheduled for December, the Ceili Band’s slot in that lineup will be filled by Alaskan Old-Time music performer Ken Waldman.
