Active and retired military personnel are invited to bring their families for a weekend of activities on Tybee Island. Many Tybee lodging providers are offering special rates, including many with a savings of 25 percent off. Tybee Island restaurants, shops and attractions are also offering special savings when you ask for a military discount this weekend.
Additionally, rental costs for 50 Tybee Island beach houses, cottages and condos were waived for selected military families for the Tybee Salutes Heroes 2014 weekend thanks to participating vacation rental companies: Mermaid Cottages, Tybee Vacation Rentals, Oceanfront Cottages, Tybee Joy Vacation Rentals and Tybee Beach Vacation Rentals. Many local businesses also donated gifts for these families to thank them for their past and current service to our country.
“Tybee Island’s vacation rental companies are excited to host these military families from all branches of service for a weekend of beach, sand, waves and relaxation,” said Diane Kaufman, owner of Mermaid Cottages. “It’s our way of saying thank you to those military men and women, including their families, who have served or continue to serve our country.”
