DDS offers tips on preventing ID theft

Worried about identity theft? Establish a secure customer account on the Department of Driver Services (DDS) Web site (www.dds.ga.gov), and monitor your driving record. Make it your homepage, and points on your license (if there are any) are instantly accessed. Follow-up by viewing your driving history online to be sure only the correct information is included on your driving record.

Keep all receipts or paperwork from any DDS licensing transaction whether in person or online. If your license or ID is stolen or you notice fraudulent transactions on your record, you will have access to valuable information contained on the receipt.

Stay informed by joining the DDS’ Facebook business page (Georgia Department of Driver Services). It is an easy way to have questions answered and access information and current news at our agency.  Emergency weather announcements and other important notices will also be posted here. DDS also posts internally produced videos to explain licensing processes and procedures on Facebook and You Tube.

DDS’ first priority is to maintain the integrity and security of one of the state’s most important processes. Following these three suggestions will help us help you prevent identity theft.
