Keeping the HES Museum open
HES 2014 Calendar
The cover of the HESs 2014 Calendar Glimpses of Effinghams Past.

Please help keep Historic Effingham Society’s Museum open. We need funds to operate in order for our doors to be open. To support us, you may: become a member of Historic Effingham Society, buy a calendar or some items from our gift shop or yard sale on Saturday.

Our 2014 calendars, "Glimpses of Effingham’s Past," are available at the museum gift shop and in various businesses throughout the community. The cover photo circa 1893 showcases the Jane R. (Pace) and Marion M. Wilson family. Other photo pages include: Effingham Academy music class of 1925, Springfield Central High pep squad of 1959, Rincon High class of 1956, Effingham Academy class of 1955, a very early Guyton Volunteer Fire Department picture, Guyton High class of 1900, Rev. William Nease family circa late 1870s, Rincon class of 1945, the John Wesley Edwards family, 1913 Mercer family photo and the Perry and Fannie (Edwards) Wilson family.

We also are featuring two of Guyton’s old hotels, the Baynard, which is still standing, and the Marion. This is the first time Historic Effingham has had a photo of the long-gone Marion Hotel.

We appreciate your support for our yard sale and gift shop. Enjoy the new calendar and help us stay open.
