Hasbro cleared more than $4 billion in net revenue in 2013 selling games and toys based on favorite and familiar brands.
The summer 2014 crop of games doesn't disappoint. The classic Simon electronic game is back with a twist, games from Disney and Transformers look great and new versions of Mouse Trap and Monopoly get a new look.

Simon Swipe for $19.99 is a new version of the old electronic memory game Simon. Following the rules of the game Simon Says, Simon the electronic game unit displays colors in a certain sequence and the player must repeat them in the same order. The twist with this version is that each colored area can display one or two lights. One light requires a touch and two requires a swipe. The game starts out easy and then builds to 16 levels. There are four versions to play, including competing against a friend. To beat all 16 levels, a player will need a memory like a steel trap.

Transformers Battle Masters for $24.99 is a two-player game similar to Mattel's Rock'em Sock'em robots. But this upgraded version features Transformers. Each player selects either Megatron or Optimus Prime and gets ready to battle an opponent. A robot's fists are activated by a trigger at the base of the robot. Pull the trigger and the fists swing. The head of each robot pops up when hit. The goal is to fight against an opponent and punch its head to pop it up. The system comes with additional Transformers in separate add-on packs to add to the fun. There's more than meets the eye here.

Elefun and Friends Mousetrap for $19.99 is a simplified version of the classic Mousetrap game for kids ages 4 and up. Kids will love the cute player figures based on characters from Elefun. There is Sneakers, Nacho and Pepper Mouse, as well as a Hungry Hippo. The "trap" is redesigned and simplified for kids with colorful parts and a new design. The game takes a much shorter time to play, and it's always fun to activate the trap and see another mouse get trapped. Keep your mouse free to win.
Monopoly Junior for $14.99 is a simplified version of the classic game Monopoly. Kids will enjoy racing around the simplified board gathering up properties, paying and gathering rent and reading chance cards. Players may get the property of their dreams or end up in jail. Parents will love this version because it's fast.

The Disney Princess Pop-Up Magic Castle Game for $19.99 is a brand new game featuring Disney princesses in a race to reach the castle. The magic of the game is the cool castle that pops off the table like a giant pop-up book. Players can play as Aurora, Snow White, Belle or Ariel, and move along a path to the castle by using a spinner to move and uncover friendship tokens for a longer move. It's a simple game but fun to play. It's cool to note that two additional pop-up boards, one based on Cinderella and the other on Tangled (sold separately), can be added to form a bigger board.
