THE DANCE HALL The residents in a New Zealand retirement community made a Taylor Swift Shake It Off parody, and it will make your internet video dreams come true.

In the video, 50 residents at the Julia Wallace Retirement Village in New Zealand lip sync, dance and special effects their way through arguably the best Shake It Off homage to date, and thats saying a lot.

True, the Swift homage isnt timely, but the prerogative of the elderly is doing whatever they want within their own timeline because theyve lived enough life to not worry about trends and people-pleasing. Plus, youll truly realize the timeliness doesnt matter once you start watching the video; theres just too much fun to be had.

Fair warning, youll probably have to watch it a couple of times to figure out what your favorite part is. Personally, Im trying to decide between the metallic-clad, pop-and-lock sequences, the booty shaking in walker seats, or the moment at the 2:06 mark where a woman inexplicably cracks an egg into a bowl like shes threatening your whole family.

In all honestly, the video exudes so much joy that I laughed heartily and cried at least one tear. It is funny and sweet and absolutely delightful.

The residents were also joined by their grandchildren, lending 4,000 years of collective experience to the endeavor, according to the video description.

For video comparison, here is Taylor Swifts original Shake It Off video.
