The United States is making strides to bolster its energy self-sufficiency. The accompanying infographic shows how petroleum output is reaching a record high set in 1970.
According to British Petroleum, as reported by ABC News, the U.S. “could be virtually energy self-sufficient by 2030.”
The New York Times reports that this self-sufficiency could be a game-changer for domestic job growth and economic expansion in the U.S, but also increase its exports and boost the country’s foreign policy. But here at home, all most people care about its potential to provide stability to gas prices for the middle-class.
