The Georgia Cattlemen’s Association, Georgia Beef Board and Georgia’s multi-million dollar beef industry will again celebrate June as beef month in the state of Georgia.

In an effort to increase beef awareness and celebrate the success of our industry, the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association, beef producers, and retail and foodservice partners throughout the state will hold promotions, cookouts, giveaways and much more during June Beef Month.

“Each year Georgia Farm Bureau promotes one of the state’s commodities, and our organization is preparing to kick off a yearlong promotion of Georgia’s beef industry beginning in July,” said Effingham County Farm Bureau President Stuart Exley. “Beef cattle are raised in every county in the state of Georgia, and contribute to the economy of our county. We are proud to partner with the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association and the Georgia Beef Board to salute our cattle producers.”

The production of beef cattle is one of Georgia’s largest and most important industries, giving $2.1 billion to Georgia’s economy with 16,000 beef producers and 1.11 million cattle. It is important that the people of Georgia recognize the valuable contributions that our cattle industry makes to the health and well-being of our state.

The Georgia Beef Board (GBB) is the promotional board for beef producers, established to implement the beef checkoff program for the research and promotion of beef. For further information about the mission and purpose of GBB contact 478-474-1815 or visit www.gabeef.org.

Founded in 1937, Georgia Farm Bureau is the largest general farm organization in the state. Its volunteer members actively participate in local, district and state activities that promote agriculture awareness to their non-farming neighbors. GFB also has 20 commodity advisory committees that give the organization input on issues pertinent to the major commodities grown in Georgia.
