Sonya Kessler was named the Rotary Club of Effingham County’s volunteer of the year at a banquet Thursday night at New Ebenezer Retreat Center.

Kessler was nominated by the Pregnancy Care Center of Rincon.

Robert Grant, nominated by Marlow Elementary School, was first runner-up and received a check for $500. Jim Miller, nominated by Habitat for Humanity, was third runner-up and received a check for $250. For more pictures from the event, see community.effinghamherald.net.
