The Effingham Retired Educators Association held its annual banquet Wednesday, where they were informed of the state of their organization from Georgia Retired Educators Association president Dorothy Wilkins.

 State Sen. Jack Hill and state Reps. Ann Purcell and Jon Burns then updated the group of relevant affairs within the state legislature. 

They also awarded scholarships to local educators going to graduate school and recognized members with awards.
