Effingham County Recreation and Parks held its annual Fall Festival on Oct. 30. More than 130 children, ages 1 to 12, turned out for the games and costume contests.
Each child received a Halloween bucket provided by Wal-Mart. There were costume contests for 0-4-year-olds, 5-8-year-olds, 9-12-year-olds and an animal category.
Avelyn Fournier took home first place as Snow White and Jamie Hodges took home second place as Rajah the Tiger in the 0-4 age group.
In the 5-8 age group, Madison Caldwell won first place as a witch and Samantha Purvis won second place as the Bride of Frankenstein.
Elijah Fournier as Dopey the Dwarf won first place and Breanna Church took home second place as a vampire in the 9-12 group.
In the animal category, Marty the dog received first place dressed as a shark while Kiwi the Bulldog won second as Yoda.
