Bennett completes basic training

Army National Guard PFC Kennith L. Bennett recently graduated from basic training at Fort Sill, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, Bennett studied the Army mission, history, physical fitness, and tradition and core values. He also received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches and field training exercises.

At this time, Bennett is receiving additional training at Redstone Arsenal, Ala. He plans to attend Georgia Military College in January.

Bennett is the son of Mark and Renee Bennett of Guyton. His grandparents are Tommy and Tinie Bailey of Guyton, Exie Kessler and the late Erwin Kessler of Sylvania, and Lee and Sherry Bennett of Savannah.
