Community choir singers are needed to be part of the choir that will sing at the Memorial Day program at Veterans Park on May 26 at 6 p.m.

This annual event has featured for several years a community choir presenting a program of hymns and patriotic music.

Susan Hartzog, choir director of the First Baptist Church of Springfield, is organizing the choir and will direct the presentation.

“We want folks from the community to join us and help us present a program that represents the faith and beliefs of our community,” she said.

The first practice is set for 10 a.m. on May 10 at the First Baptist Church of Springfield. Hartzog encourages all church choirs to plan for members to participate in the community event.
