Bethesda United Methodist Church recently made a donation of $1,200 to Manna House Ministries. First Baptist Church of Rincon also sent a special offering of $1,057 for the ministry.  Rincon United Methodist, Faith Presbyterian, St. Luke’s Episcopal, Bethel Lutheran, Mizpah United Methodist, and Faith Baptist Church contributed more than 500 pounds of food during the March.

Manna House has increased the amount of families they serve each month. In March 2008, Manna House assisted 54 families with food. This month, 321 families received a box or bag of groceries.

Many people are turning to food pantries for the first time in their lives because of job loss, health needs, or rising cost of food. The donated money will be used to purchase food items.

Manna House Ministries expressed its thanks for these generous donations.

Manna House food pantry hours of operation are Monday noon-2:30 p.m., Thursday 2-4:30 p.m., and Friday 9-11:30 a.m.
