Scott and Sons Trucking Company partnered with Effingham County Recreation and Parks to host their fifth annual back-to-school rally Saturday at the Clyo Community Center.

Thanks to donations from sponsors, 300 children took home bags of school supplies. Some also won drawings for book bags and Walmart gift cards. The children also enjoyed a free lunch and activities.

“We want to get it into the kids’ minds that graduating is not optional. You must have it,” said Sonja Scott, who organized the event with husband Roger Scott.
