Athletes from D.E.E.N.O.S. Planet Gymnastics in Rincon traveled to Macon to compete in the Disco Invitational and brought home a first place team award, along with several individual golds.

The XCEL Silver Team won the team championship with only three athletes, the minimum needed to compete as a team. That means that each gymnast’s scores counted on each of the four events, leaving no room for major errors.

In the individual XCEL Silver competition, Jamie Gancedo and Abby Nelms went one-two in the all-around in their age group, also picking up gold in each event with Gancedo winning vault, beam and floor and Nelms winning bars. Mackenzie Fields took home the All-Around gold in her age division, along with 3 more golds on bars, beam and floor.

The XCEL Bronze Team was represented by five D.E.E.N.O.S. athletes in the Jr. A division, racking up four gold, two silver and six bronze medals. Ryleigh Still finished first in all-around and also won bars and beam, while Julia Phillips won gold on vault and bronze all-around and on floor. Still also won silver on floor and bronze on vault.

Skylar Vanderloop won silver on beam, Justice Taylor took home a pair of bronzes on vault and bars and Nora Turner won bronze on beam. Trista Kenny competed in the Jr. B age division and cleaned up with four golds, earning the top spot in the all-around and on bars, beam and floor.

D.E.E.N.O.S. had two athletes in the XCEL Gold level, Diya Patel and Amanda Edwards, both competing in the Sr. A age group. Patel won first all-around while also clinching silvers on vault, bars and floor and a bronze on beam. Edwards won the bronze in the all-around and on bars and took home gold for her performances on vault and floor. In the USA Level 6 competition, Abi Tredway and Molly Hammond competed in the Sr. age division against a tough field. Tredway won bronze all-around and on floor and finished with the silver on beam.
