The Exchange Club of Effingham enjoyed a presentation about Memorial Hall Museum, the oldest museum in Louisiana. The museum was dedicated on Jan. 8, 1891.
Its architectural history and highlights of the museum’s collection were presented by James Holcomb of Savannah and co-owner of Ardry Trading Company in Effingham County. He invited all members to visit the museum on their next visit to New Orleans.
The Exchange Club of Effingham meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month for lunch and fellowship. For more information on the Effingham Exchange Club, contact Jimmy Rutland at 655-2952 or Yvette Carr at 657-5423.
