President Karen Tanksley thanks Lisa Phillips, media specialist at South Effingham Middle School, for an enlightening presentation to The Rotary Club of Effingham County.

With the extensive availability of the Internet, it has become more of a challenge to get students interested in reading. Phillips conducts regular “Book Talks” with the students at SEMS to introduce them to literature that addresses their interests and encourages them to read.

The Rotary Club of Effingham meets on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Rincon. For more information, contact Lainie Jenkins at 663-0131 or ljenkins@first-southern.com
