Air Force Airman 1st Class D’angelo S. Giles graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

Giles earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Shenina Foard of Rincon, and grandson of Peter J. and Inez Giles of Rincon and Bonita Young of Pooler.

Giles is a 2014 graduate of Effingham County High School.

He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
