Benjamin Ginn was presented the Eagle Scout award by Mark Bennett at a ceremony at Springfield United Methodist Church.
Ginn earned more than 100 badges and awards and, for his final project, he raised money and built tables for the National Guard armory.
Ginn is a graduate of Effingham County High School, where he had a 3.9 grade-point average.
He received two flags, an American flag that was flown over the U.S. Capitol and a Georgia flag that was flown over the state Capitol.
Ginn also received letters of congratulations from President and Michelle Obama, U.S. Rep. John Barrow, state Reps. Jon Burns, Bill Hitchens and David Ralston, Gov. Nathan Deal, Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and Secretary of State Brian Kemp.
