Girls Night Out to help ease stress

The joy of the holiday season can sometimes be marred by the stress of a long holiday to do list. This stress can take a toll on your everyday health and even have an impact on your heart.  Effingham Hospital wants women to remember they are “Too Blessed to be Stressed” and November’s Girls Night Out, held on a special date, will focus on this mantra.

November’s event will be held Nov. 15 from 7-9 p.m. at the Effingham Imaging Center, 110 Goshen Rd.

Special guest speaker Ginger Kieffer, RN, a member of the cardiac rehabilitation team at Effingham Hospital, will tell women in attendance how to manage and avoid stress that seems to creep into all of our lives during the holiday season. This stress can lead to health problems and can especially take a toll on your heart’s health. Kieffer will remind women to keep everything in perspective and share simple ways to de-stress and relax.

In addition, Christine Placek, RYT-200 yoga Alliance Register Teacher, will be on hand to demonstrate yoga techniques that will help facilitate relaxation.      Girls Night Out always features refreshments and gifts. Most importantly, women in attendance have a chance to spend a little “me time” while learning valuable health information.

There is no need to schedule an appointment to attend GNO.  For questions, call 826-1400 or 754-0421 or visit www.effinghamhealth.com.
